Data science and data visualization are increasingly relevant in a data-rich business landscape. Tableau is one of the tools at the forefront of this data revolution as a new approach to business intelligence through data visualization. Tableau is business intelligence software that allows anyone to easily connect to data, then visualize and create interactive, sharable dashboards. It's easy enough that any Excel user can learn it, but powerful enough to satisfy even the most complex analytical problems. Tableau now boasts customers that include tech startups like Google and Facebook along with more traditional business such as Wells Fargo, Dow Chemical and SpaceX.
This workshop is perfect for anyone who has a working proficiency with Excel and works frequently with data, and who now wants to get a boost in business intelligence competence through data visualization. We dedicate the first part to explain how data visualization fits into the broader data analytics landscape, introduce Tableau and discuss topics like Tableau’s limitations and advantages and mistakes and best practices. The second part will have participants roll up their sleeves and get started visualising data and then creating useful and relevant dashboards. By the end of this workshop, you should have a working knowledge to get you started in the exciting world of data visualization with one of the fastest growing data visualization tools in the world.
Come and learn the basics, and get the skills you need to own that next staff meeting, marketing presentation, or business pitch with data!
