About This Event

Pilot Project Brewing and General Assembly are joining forces to bring an interactive evening of code and beer to the Chicago community!

In this two-hour, hands-on coding 101 crash course - you’ll discover the basics of coding using HTML and CSS.

Whether you are brand new to tech, starting to dip your toes into code, or just curious about the intersection of tech and our daily lives, Code in the Brewery will inspire you to jumpstart your journey and never stop learning.

Capacity is limited so admission will be first come, first served. Please RSVP.

Bring your ID, a fully-charged laptop and an open mind. Be ready to learn while sipping a brew or two.

Schedule
5:30 PM: Check-in + Grab a beer
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM: Coding 101 - taught by General Assembly Coding instructor

Tuesday drink special is $2 off any full pour (14.5oz) beer and $3 off flights (four 4oz taster beers). Also on the menu: traditional beer, beer/wine hybrids, hard kombucha, cider, coffee, cold brew, and hot tea.

About the Instructor

Tom has been developing websites since graduating from Northwestern University in 1996. His favorite part of his job is working closely with small business owners, non-profits, and entrepreneurs. He loves learning about their plans, ideas, and challenges. Finding and providing a solution for them is very rewarding.

Tom Stuenkel and Rob Austin formed WorkSite in 2013 as a Website Construction company. We provide website development, digital marketing strategy, technology coaching, and SEO for many types of small businesses.

Before then, Tom worked for several IT consulting firms and start-ups where he developed websites for Kraft, Bank One, and the CTA, among others.

Pilot Project Brewing

Pilot Project was launched as a collaborative and artistically curious space to help support talented brewers in an industry with exceptionally high barriers. Modeled after the music industry, Pilot Project is our approach to fostering relentless experimentation of new beer recipes, breweries, collaborations, styles, and concepts. We are Chicago’s incubator dedicated to the art of brewing and community inspired by the craft.

We understand that, sometimes, plans change. If you can no longer make it to a class or workshop, please email us at least 7 days before the scheduled event date. No refunds will be given to cancellations made within a week of the class or workshop.
