Greg Menna is the Co-Founder and CEO of District Doughnut. Alongside Le Cordon Bleu Pastry Chef Christine Schaefer and childhood friend Juan Pablo, Greg co-founded District Doughnut with a clear vision: to handcraft the perfect doughnut, pair it with locally roasted coffee, and serve this classic pair with a delightful smile. Since 2012, Greg has sought to ensure that every person that the District Doughnut brand reaches - whether a "doughfessional" (DD team member) or a store guest - is enriched and encouraged through a refreshing and welcoming simplicity. After opening the first location on Barracks Row in 2014, the DD team has opened 3 additional DC locations and is planning even bigger things in the coming year.
Greg graduated in 2010 from the College of William & Mary with a BA in Philosophy. In his free time, Greg maintains a commitment to spiritual development and physical fitness (former NSCA Certified Personal Trainer). He intends to carve out time in 2019 and beyond to re-engage his first love - helping those in serious need, whether in Nicaraguan orphanages, in Washington DC, or those with disabilities.
Kim Bryden is the CEO & Founder of Cureate and Cureate Connect. For over 10 years, she has worked in the food and beverage industry from government to Fortune 500 retail management, to foodtech startup. Cureate provides services to emerging food and beverage business owners to assist with their growth and scaling initiatives. They have worked with emerging retail outlets like Glen's Garden Market; to nationally acclaimed food start-ups such as Beefsteak, a José Andrés concept; to developing and running a year-long educational curriculum for food entrepreneurs called School of Food. With an ever-present mission to create more interconnected, economically-vibrant communities, the team built Cureate Connect; an online platform that connects food and beverage entrepreneurs with new business opportunities in real estate, retail, wholesale, and events/catering. Sam is a Marketing Manager at Nando’s PERi-PERi, the South-African-Portuguese restaurant known worldwide for its spicy flame-grilled chicken. Sam oversees brand activations and is responsible for strategizing and executing events and experiences to help raise awareness, drive sales and increase loyalty among guests.
Prior to Nando’s, Sam was with &pizza, where he helped grow the company from five locations to more than two dozen pizza shops, supporting brand strategy, marketing and guest experience. Sam started his career with Kraft Foods, where he served as a brand ambassador and spokesperson for the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. Yes, he really drove the Wienermobile.
Sam holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Maryland and resides in Washington, DC.
