Frequently Asked Questions

Why is this coding bootcamp relevant today?

All companies — not just Silicon Valley giants — are evolving into tech companies, and demand is growing steadily for software engineers who can creatively solve problems and implement robust, sustainable solutions. In fact, Harvey Nash and KPMG found that 67% of the tech leaders they surveyed reported an inability to acquire the talent they need. Regardless of your professional background, there's ample opportunity to carve a fulfilling — and future-proof — career path.

Will I earn a software engineering certificate?

Yes! Upon passing this course, you will receive a signed certificate of completion. Thousands of GA alumni use their course certificate to demonstrate skills to potential employers — including our 19K+ hiring partners — along with their LinkedIn networks. GA’s tech programs are well-regarded by many top employers, who contribute to our curriculum and partner with us to train their own teams.

How does this coding bootcamp relate to GA’s other tech courses?

Software Engineering Bootcamp is for learners who are committed to making a career change.
Front-End Web Development offers a popular “starter” option for those who are curious about careers in tech or want to work more effectively with technical stakeholders. JavaScript Development offers a further deep dive into the world’s most popular programming language.

Which format should I take this coding bootcamp in – on campus or online?

It’s up to you! Our remote courses offer a learning experience that mirrors GA’s on-campus offerings but allow you to learn from the comfort of home. If you don’t live near a GA campus, have a busy travel schedule, or just want to save yourself the commute, a remote course could be a good option for you, if available in your market. You’ll still get access to the expert instruction, learning resources, and support network that GA is known for.

If you prefer to learn alongside your peers and can make it to campus, our in-person courses allow you to take advantage of our beautiful classrooms and workspaces.

Still curious?

Loans may be issued by Stride Funding, Inc or FinWise Bank, a Utah-chartered bank, Member FDIC. All loans are subject to individual approval and adherence to underwriting guidelines. Program restrictions, other terms, and conditions apply.

The effective Income Share Percentage (“ISP”) on your Income Share Loan (“ISL”) is a fixed percentage of your monthly gross-income and will range between 1.60% and 10.00%, for a period of 48 months after the beginning of your payment term. Monthly payments are required and will vary greatly in amount because they depend on your specific ISP and your reported monthly gross-income. Monthly repayment amount is based on your designated ISP and monthly gross-income, not an Annual Percentage Rate (“APR”); the APR you actually pay will be dependent on your actual ISP and gross-income for the entire duration of the loan repayment period. To illustrate how much you might pay on your ISL, assuming you are earning $40,000.00 gross-income per year ($3,333.33 per month), with an ISP of 10%, amount financed of $16,200.00, 48 months repayment period, and 21 months until graduation plus 3 months grace period, you will be required to make 48 monthly payments of $333.33 for total payments of $15,999.84. For this example, your total monthly payments would end after 48 months even though you would not have reached the Maximum Implied Annual Percentage Rate of 21%, because you have reached your required number of Maximum Monthly Payments first, assuming that you have no deferrals or other pauses to your payments. You may repay more or less than the amount you received, depending on your specific circumstances. Your loan has a maximum payment period (96 months) inclusive of any months where monthly payments are made as well as any months that are deferred months after you leave or graduate from your program.
