Individuals, corporations, and foundations fund fellowships for underrepresented groups they wish to support, creating their own diverse pool of employable talent.
Fellowships provide transformative hands-on skills training and job opportunities, immersing students in a supportive community of fellow creators and practitioners.
Opportunity Fund Fellows volunteer with a range of non-profit partners. By sharing their new skills, Fellows help build and educate communities around the world.

To be considered for Opportunity Fund, a student must be accepted to one of the following:
Please note that all students interested in an Opportunity Fund scholarship must speak with a General Assembly admissions producer to apply. You cannot self-enroll in Opportunity Fund. Upon acceptance to a course students should ask their admissions producer for a fellowship application if interested.
All Opportunity Fund candidates must have work authorization in their country of study.

Volunteer: Black Girls Code
Jerome is a veteran from Memphis who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. He was the first in his class to land a job.
Volunteer: FRAGO
Ivette worked in sales before becoming a web developer. She wants to increase the number of Latina women in tech.

Francis transitioned his experience in financial services to become a developer at a fin-tech startup in NYC.

Rose is complementing her background in nonprofit community engagement with fresh UX design skills to scale social impact.
Volunteer: C/I
Kay, a veteran and self-taught HTML/CSS hobbyist, was working as a business & system analyst. She is now a full-stack developer.
Volunteer: Hack the Hood
Alexandra worked in journalism and storytelling and is now a full-stack developer for an art events network.
Volunteer: Coder Dojo
Liza switched from marketing to become a developer at an international financial company.
Volunteer: CodeNow
Patrick was a teacher and served in the Navy for 5 years before pursuing a career in technology as a CTO of a startup.
