We’ve put together a list of some common questions we’re asked about our digital subscription. Q: What is General Assembly?
A: General Assembly transforms thinkers into creators through education and opportunities in technology, business, and design. We offer many different ways to learn modern skills taught by top practitioners with real‐world experience.
Q: Why should I sign up for GA Front Row?
A: Well, let’s see… Are you an independent thinker? Do you watch one or more online classes a month? Are you interested in learning new things but scared to go outside? Do you like sandwiches*? Answering “yes” to any of these questions is a good reason to sign up for Front Row (*correlation between enjoyment of sandwiches and GA Front Row has not been scientifically verified).
Q: Where do these online classes come from?
A: Our content is produced at our NYC campus, right across from Zaro’s. We handpick the best of our classes and workshops and fresh squeeze them to produce an online offering for students who prefer to learn on their own time, who live far from a GA campus, or who just love pressing rewind.
Q: Can I watch this on my iPhone, iPad, Kindle Fire, or big screen TV?
A: You can watch it from any device with an internet browser, even a Kindle Fire.
Q: Can I log in from any computer, or is it linked to one specific computer?
A: You may log in from any computer that has internet access and you feel comfortable entering a password into.
Q: Does this work in all browsers?
A: Our online experience is optimized for Chrome and Safari — we recommend using either of those for the best viewing experience.
Q: I just got an error message. What do I do now?
A: First, freak out. Then breathe. Then email and we’ll work through it together.
Q: Can I download the content?
A: Mmmm, not now. But soon. Maybe. We’re thinking about it. Seriously. We’re discussing.
Q: What do I do if I can’t find a topic I want?

Q: Does my free trial include live streams?
A: Yes.
Q: Does the membership include live streams?
A: Yes.
Q: What is a live stream?
A: A live stream — pronounced “live stream” — is an online class happening live, meaning you can watch it on your computer screen at the very moment it is happening. This includes classes, panels, and fireside chats from our headquarters. We also stream Q&A sessions with our class instructors to give you the opportunity to get your questions answered.
Q: I registered for a live stream. When will I receive the link?
A: Live stream links are sent out about 30 minutes before the class begins.
Q: It’s 30 minutes to the live stream and I haven’t received the link. What’s up?
A: Sometimes links accidentally wind up in spam. Check your junk folder, and if it’s not there, email us at
Q: Do live stream classes get added to the video library? If so, when?
A: Not all live streams are added to the video library. For the ones that are, those are typically added within two weeks of the original airing. If you signed up for the original live stream, you will be alerted via email with a link to the on-demand version when it is ready.
Q: Why isn’t my student invitation email working?
A: Make sure you’re using the right email address. When logging onto GA Front Row through a student invitation, you must register with the same email address that the invitation was sent to.
Q: Do you offer gift certificates for GA Front Row?
A: At the moment, we do not offer gift certificates. However, we hear the Cheesecake Factory has some good ones.
Q: Do you offer an annual membership?
A: We want to say yes, but we can’t quite yet. Check back soon.
Q: What if I want to cancel my subscription?
A: Our feelings will be mildly hurt, but we have a good therapist so we’ll get over it. While logged into your account, go to “My Subscription” and follow the cancellation instructions. If that doesn’t work, scream really really loud, and someone should come and help you (not necessarily us).
Q: Do you offer refunds?
A: As a member you can cancel your subscription at any time, but we do not offer refunds.
