Ryan Oliver leads Twitter’s Brand Strategy team in the Southeast, responsible for helping the world’s biggest advertisers with creative and effective Twitter campaigns. He works closely with Coca Cola, The Home Depot, AT&T, Verizon, Disney, FedEx, and other Fortune 100 companies.
Prior to joining Twitter, he spent 7 years at General Electric, most recently serving as CMO Advisor to Beth Comstock, GE’s CMO and SVP. In this role, he helped the $146 Billion company explore new growth opportunities, formed key external partnerships, led key strategic initiatives, and managed executive-level projects for the CMO and CEO.
Previous to his role at GE’s HQ, he led marketing campaigns, created and launched a new product, managed a national sales team, owned strategic relationships for 2 major customers, and implemented global sales force effectiveness measures for an entire P&L. Ryan is a graduate of GE’s flagship leadership program, the Experienced Commercial Leadership Program, designed and chartered by GE’s CEO, Jeff Immelt, as the only post-MBA leadership development program. Here, he received the Leadership Award for demonstrating outstanding leadership during the 2-year program.
Prior to his time at GE, Ryan was a Business Development Manager at CSE, a sports management and marketing firm in Atlanta, GA. Before joining CSE, he served as the Market Manager in Georgia for eSkye Solutions, responsible for all sales and marketing efforts of the company’s B2B software solution for the beverage industry.
Living a nomadic life over the past 12 years, moving 12 times and living in 7 different cities he is thrilled to be back home in Atlanta. On a personal level, he enjoys politics, cooking, reading, traveling, playing tennis (and watching all sports), Ironman competitions, and his beloved Georgia Bulldogs.
Ryan’s educational background includes a BA from the University of Georgia and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. UT presented him with the 2012 Rising Star Award, given to one alumnus demonstrating success in today’s business climate.
