Katharine Jarmul is Director of Technology at HYFN, a creative technical agency located in Hermosa Beach, CA. As a self-described pythonista and Unix-lover, she helps lead and develop open-source technology initiatives with a diverse team of engineers. She comes from a media application background, building python applications for the Washington Post and USA TODAY. She dedicates some of her free time to diversity initiatives in open-source languages, helping found PyLadies and put on workshops with other community partners.
