Justin Hamacher is a designer and educator based in Seattle. A polymath, he has been on the faculty in the Division of Design at the University of Washington from 2015-2017 where he taught primarily in the interdisciplinary Masters in Human Computer Interaction and Design program (MHCID), worked as UX Director for Harman International where he built and led the 70 person experience design team, and currently trains as a Jungian analyst in Boston. His areas of design research involve encouraging technology businesses to participate in civic and community programs, arts inclusion in relation to science education and scientific endeavors, and the psychological affordances of physical spaces. Beyond design, he performs as a musician and is an illustrator.
