Dr. Hari Thadakamalla has been at the forefront of data science and analytics since 2007. He currently works as a senior data scientist at TripAdvisor, where he collaborates with a cross-functional team to build better recommendation systems and ranking algorithms, and improve existing analytical processes. Before joining TripAdvisor, he worked at Oracle; there, he solved challenging business problems for retailers by using advanced modeling and machine learning techniques for store clustering, pricing, and markdown optimization. He holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research and a Master's degree in Mathematics from Penn State, was invited by the Ministry of Science and Research in Düsseldorf, Germany to present his research, and has had several papers published in top peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
In this part-time course, students learn to build robust predictive models, test their validity, and clearly communicate resulting insights.
