Dr. Betty Sargeant is an award-winning artist and designer. Her practice centres on how art and creative technologies can support people in being more socially and physically engaged.
Betty is currently a consultant at the Exertion Games Lab (RMIT University). She was the Melbourne Knowledge Fellow (2015-17), artist-in- residence at the Asia Culture Centre, South Korea (2016), and she won the 2016 Consensus Innovation Award in recognition of her progressive digital technology work. Betty’s PhD was ranked top three at the Australian CHASS prize (2015).
In 2016 Betty exhibited her interactive media artwork The Storytelling Machine at the Asia Culture Centre (Korea). This work was developed as a part of her Melbourne Knowledge Fellowship. She is currently creating a new community inclusive media artwork called The Playground.
