With over 12 years experience as a design professional, and over 20 years as an enthusiast, I have learned invaluable techniques and gained significant knowledge that has helped me grow into the tactical, innovative, and expert Creative Director, Web Designer, and Mentor I am today. My passion for graphic design began at a time when the Internet did not exist, and the original Macintosh was still a hot commodity for designers.
Fortunately I went to a forward-thinking school, and through the yearbook class was given access to work magic with fonts in TypeStyler, and print layouts for pasteup from PageMaker – here I learned the entire traditional layout design process. This is when I decided what I wanted to do ‘when I grow-up’. Little did I know that those fundamentals of design I gained while creating the school annuals, would become priceless in the course of my profession.
After college graduation I was exposed to the glossy world of New York City magazine publishing, which was about when web design started to become a thing. Through my learnings in school of HTML and Flash, I was often tasked to create the company website and animated banner ads — primarily because no one else knew how. The course of time has taken me further away from traditional design, but I apply the lessons learned to everything I do.
In recent years I have focused entirely on the digital space, and have been given the opportunity to work with, and help grow the creative teams at a few powerhouse branding & marketing agencies in Los Angeles. Throughout my career I have been fortunate to work with numerous iconic global brands, including: Sony Pictures, AXE, Barbie, Us Weekly, Neutrogena, “Chelsea Lately”, Gordon Biersch, Black Eyed Peas, Walmart, Huggies, Mitsubishi Cars, Yahoo!, Plum Organics, Fox Studios, plus many more.
