Angela Craven is an artist and UX consultant.
Angela Craven’s abstract expressionist paintings function as tools for communication and reflection. Words and language inspire her paintings, informing the shapes, textures, and colors on her canvases. She explores the dualities of light and dark and the deep emotional landscapes and complexities that drive human interaction.
Angela studied painting in Siena, Italy with abstract painter and video artist Franca Marina and graduated from Colorado State University in 2003 with a BFA in Painting. After school, Angela moved to Brooklyn. While working and exhibiting in New York, she launched a second career in UX Design and developed a passion for design strategy and research.
In 2016, following her own experiences with grief, Angela decided to work independently as an artist and UX consultant. She combines art with her love of learning about people and their unique challenges, particularly those related to grief. She currently works with people experiencing grief; her resulting paintings are inspired from conversations with them, which are focused on listening and empathy.
Angela works from her studio at Globeville Riverfront Arts Center (GRACe) in the RiNo Art District.
