In addition to teaching Data Science at General Assembly, Alessandro Gagliardi is a Sr. Data Scientist at Glassdoor, where he uses big data and machine learning techniques to predict salaries, analyze conversion and retention, and present the best opportunities to job seekers. Prior to that, he worked for Path, analyzing terabytes of customer activity logs to provide business insights for product development. Alessandro received his B.A. in Computer Science from the University of California. He worked as an independent computer consultant in New York for several years before enrolling in a Ph.D. program at Rutgers University to study Integrative Neuroscience. There he developed new methods for analyzing brain imaging data (fMRI) in R and Python. He returned to California in 2010 to teach at the University of San Francisco. In 2011 he earned the Innovation in Teaching Award for his innovative curriculum design.
In this part-time course, students learn to build robust predictive models, test their validity, and clearly communicate resulting insights.
