About This Event

Young Visionaries is a celebration of local creativity, arts and technology. Featuring the stories of creators across multiple disciplines who are using technology to push the boundaries of creative expression or to influence change.

Presented by GA ‘Young Visionaries’ is a series of quick fire lightning talks and summer shin-dig to support:

  • the development of local talents across different fields like tech, film, the arts, science and data.
  • London's growth as United Kingdoms’s leading innovative tech and creative hub;
  • Creators tell their stories, processes and vision for the future
  • Young people to connect and share ideas.

Through an evening of inspirational talks, audience interaction and many many drinks to end the summer with a bang.

About the Panelists

Forrest Radford Photo

Co-Founder ,
FixIts

Forrest is the creative lead at London based tech company EAVE and co-founder of materials company FixIts. Torn between business and design, Forrest chose to focus on building skills that would allow him to make real products, filling in the other knowledge gaps along the way. Over time this has lead to opportunities and experiences that have shown how important design is to success. Before entering into the job market Forrest took a keen interest in materials and manufacturing processes, spending his final years of study focusing on the obsolescence of products before graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2014

Emily Cole Photo

Media Artist and Director

With a background Material Design and recently graduated in Information Experience Design at London's Royal College of Art, Em is an artist situated between the intersections of image making and technology. Influenced by what she feels our overstimulated, desensitised minds are craving, her visual style combines sensory stimulating materials and brazen humour with socially progressive narratives. By pushing the boundaries of what photography means today, Em's work is provocative and poses questions on human communication in a post-digital age.

Selected clients and features include I-D Magazine, Wah Nails, Hunger Magazine, King Kong Magazine, Sony Music, Puma. Personal work has been exhibited in the UK, US and Canada.

John Peter Archer Photo

Co-Founder ,
Gather

ohn Peter Archer and Lindsey Noakes cofounded Gather in 2016. Gather is a UK non-profit with a mission is to transform how data is used to get toilets to low income communities in cities across the world. Earlier this year, Gather hosted the world’s first data dive for urban sanitation. Gather has also recently launched a new city data hub model to encourage collaboration, standardisation and effect local change.

Gather is a small team with a big ambition. John Peter and Lindsey were included in Forbes 30 under 30 social entrepreneurs in Europe 2018, and Gather has reached the regional finals of the World Banks Ideas For Action initiative and the finals of Comic Relief’s Tech For Good Awards.
