About this event

It’s 2017, so why the persistent gender gap in American politics? Women are 53% of registered voters, yet they hold less than 25% of national, state and local legislative seats with a similar outlook for minorities. Even in a progressive city like Los Angeles, only 2 of the 15 city council members is female.

An old political adage states, "If you're not at the table, you're probably on the menu." In today's political climate, it's become clear to both women and men, that women need a seat at the table.

Our all-star panel includes three amazing women (Los Angeles Councilwoman, Nury Martinez, Former Nevada Assemblywoman, Lucy Flores and Executive Director of Emerge California, Kimberly Ellis) who will share insider details on the trials and travails of running for office as a woman.

Agenda for the night:

  • 6:00pm: Pomp & Whimsey cocktail hour

  • 6:30pm: Panel

  • 7:30pm: Post panel mingle & questions
