Head of Experience Design,
Ben is a UX designer with over 14 years experience. He has a strong background in banking and financial service apps and websites, and has worked with banks including HSBC (Hong Kong), ADBC (Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank), Axis Bank India, MCB (Mauritius Commercial Bank), ICICI Bank India, Danamon Indonesia and New York Based startup Moven.
Ben is a fan of minimalist design and solving complexity through simplicity. He is a lover of photography, an Instagrammer (@beniam), as well as an enthusiast for street food from where ever he is. Ben is a certified Kansas City Barbecue Society Judge, Competed in the US Mini Golf open, team winner of Victorian Chilli Festival, People's Choice, Best Chilli award, and a general enjoyer of life.
Rachael Geaney (Moderator)
UX/UI Design Lead,
I’m Rachael! I’m a multi-disciplined designer with a specialist focus on UX/UI Design. My career has taken me all over the world from Australia to London to Canada, and across a variety of different industries from Publishing, Architecture, Tourism Product Design right through to technology in the Banking industry.
I'm currently designing products in the education sector at Pearson Education and am loving the ability to combine my 15 years of Graphic Design experience with UX and UI processes in an innovative space. I love a clean minimalistic aesthetic and believe humility and open-mindedness go a long way in the UX Process (and in life).
Jessa is the Design Lead at 86 400, where she’s responsible for shaping the end to end customer experience and guiding the talented multi-disciplined design team. Throughout her 13+ year career, her strategic approach links both organisational objectives and design philosophies while ensuring the customer stays at the centre of all decisions. Her passion for innovation has seen her lead and design award-winning apps, most recently the 86 400 banking app, which launched in 2019 and won the prestigious Good Design Award Best in Class accolade in the Digital Design Apps and Software category.
UX Design Lead,
Scott is a UX Design Lead at Telstra where he's responsible for the design of Telstra's online sales journeys and launching new products within agile ways of working. He's helped Telstra build Australia's largest design team, and has seen first hand how changing business requirements have led to a change in what companies are looking for in new designers.
He currently mentors UNSW students and has contributed to the curriculum of RMIT's Bachelor of Design (Digital Media).
Prior to joining Telstra he was a management consultant with Deloitte where he led teams to solve complex business problems using design thinking.
