About This Workshop
As voice experiences become more ubiquitous, stay relevant by learning how to design for voice-first interactions.
Voice User Interfaces (VUIs) are gaining adoption worldwide and their momentum has just started. As a designer, you need to know how to design voice user interfaces. Learn the core concepts for designing a voice experience and create your own in this interactive workshop.
General Assembly’s classes, workshops & events are for recreational purposes and are not regulated by the bureau of proprietary school supervision.
If this class is recorded, students will be sent the recording link within 7 days after class completion by email. Students are encouraged to download and save any shared materials (worksheets, deck if applicable) during class for later reference as they are not be shared by email.
- Practice the design thinking methods and strategies that lead to successful products.
- Understand how UX fits into your team's workflow.
- Gain knowledge of the terminology of UX Design along with useful tips and resources (i.e. How to become a UX Designer).
- Hands-on exercises including: research, scenarios, prototyping, and user testing.
- Practice your collaboration, brainstorming, and storyboarding skills.
- Prototype a voice user interface.
All students will need to sign up for a free Github account and have a smartphone.
You will need access to a laptop or computer with a working webcam and microphone as well as a strong internet connection.
This class will occur completely online using Zoom.
Class setup information will be emailed to all students signed up around 24 hours before (and again an hour before) your class launches.
Each individual class participant must have purchased a ticket.
About the Instructor
Kiri is a UX designer with a passion for designing products that delight users. Kiri started her career in Industrial Design (designing things like shoes, toys and sunglasses) before transitioning into UX and working on digital products. These days, you can find Kiri living in London and doing UX and UI contract work for a range of companies in addition to teaching remote classes with GA. In her spare time, she loves traveling, photography and hiking with her dog.
