About this event

Recently, the FBI cited Atlanta as one of 14 cities in the United States with a high incidence of human trafficking of minors. Since digital, online information is a primary means of conducting this illegal activity, we can apply data science techniques to help fight this awful crime.

Dr Emanuele will give an overview of Anidata's recent interdisciplinary collaboration with the Fulton County District Attorney's Ofice, which involved organizing two hackathons surrounding the theme of using data science to create innovations to fight human trafficking. He will give an overview of data infrastructure built and data science techniques explored to attack this problem.
