About This Workshop

As technology changes and more media outlets compete for customers’ time, providing an enjoyable experience is critical to both attracting and keeping users. This class aims to demystify UX by giving a practical and simple introduction to what UX is while also explaining some of its core concepts of usability. This is a field that affects all areas of business — prepare to dip your toes into an ocean of new concepts and ideas that will enlighten your perspective on the human-computer interaction experience.

*Half an hour will be allocated for lunch at 12:30pm. You have the option to pack a lunch, help yourself to our peanut butter and jelly sandwich bar, or find something in the vicinity.

About the Instructor

Freelance UX Lead

Phil is a designer living and working in Washington, DC. Bringing together interactive content, research, accessibility, animation, and responsive design, Phil is all about the multi-disciplinary nature of UX design. Currently, he freelances as a UX Lead, and he was previously Senior Experience Designer at RP3 Agency.

Using visual media to educate, inspire, and connect people is one of his main passions; not to mention being a nerd about screen aspect ratios. He’s also a photographer and greatly appreciates it when high-density images are served to his iPhone and Mac. ¡Viva la resolution!
