About This Workshop

As technology changes and more media outlets compete for customers’ time, providing an enjoyable experience is critical to both attracting and keeping users. This class aims to demystify UX by giving a practical and simple introduction to what UX is while also explaining some of its core concepts of usability. This is a field that affects all areas of business — prepare to dip your toes into an ocean of new concepts and ideas that will enlighten your perspective on the human-computer interaction experience.

About the Instructor

Head of UX Strategy & Co-Founder, Digital Karma

Jill is an Educator, Mentor, Speaker and Consultant. In addition to being the Head of UX Strategy and Co-Founder of Digital Karma, Jill also serves as an IxD Advisory Board Member for Santa Monica College and served as a Lead UXDI Instructor + Global Education Strategy Team Member at General Assembly.

Jill began programming when she was 8 years old and has been designing digital products for over 15 years. Jill is an entrepreneur and thrives on creative collaboration and solving design challenges. She loves coming up with simple, effective solutions that provide the best possible user experience. Jill believes strongly in sound workflow practices and development methods to create the best project possible right out of the gate. She has experienced firsthand the great benefits of agile development and it is her preferred development workflow. She has worked with several brands such as Fox, Buick, Walgreen’s and Digitas. Her primary focus is to successfully create and maintain a one-to-one relationship between the consumer and a brand.
