About This Workshop

From working with partners and candidates, to navigating your own compensation or buying a home or car, negotiation can be a powerful tool in our everyday lives. During this interactive workshop attendees will explore two key negotiations processes, learn how to manage the emotional dimensions of conflict resolution and become familiar with several key tools of awareness.

  • Distinguish interested based bargaining from traditional positional bargaining.
  • Define and employ the five critical elements of negotiations and the core concerns framework.
  • Structure and execute a two-party integrative negotiation.

About the Instructor

Kyle Ali is an advocate for equal educational and workforce opportunities and has excelled as an identifier, cultivator and developer of diverse talent. As a a Project Manager at Google, he supports and drives multidisciplinary projects that enable the staffing organization to meet its business objectives. Prior to joining Google, Kyle developed and launched Teach For America – Greater Nashville’s first regional institute for corps members and led Teach For America’s outreach and recruitment efforts at several of the nation’s top public and private institutions. Kyle is a native of suburban Chicago, Illinois. He is a former Teach For America Corps Member (Baltimore, ’09). Kyle holds bachelors degrees from the University of Missouri, a Masters of Business Administration from Baylor University and a professional certificate in negotiation from Northwestern University.
