What does it take to navigate small talk towards deeper, more significant topics? How do you gracefully exit from monotonous or unwanted conversations? How do you organically grow your professional network?
In this workshop, we’ll explore the many ways to feel more confident engaging with strangers and forging deeper relationships with existing personal and professional contacts. We’ll delve into the dynamics of conversations of all varieties, from small talk at the office to networking events and social gatherings of all sizes. We’ll also cover tips for staying relaxed when speaking in front of large groups, as well as active listening techniques to improve information recall and emotional IQ. But most importantly, everyone will get lots of practice pitching, improvising, and schmoozing.
The best parking structure to use is at 350 E. 2nd Street. It is directly next door (to the right) of our building. The cost is $2.00/15 min ($10 max), $5.00 flat rate after 4pm.
Gold line stop in Little Tokyo is a 5 minute walk to campus. Red line stop at Grand Park and Civic Center is about 10-15 minute walk.
