Web typography isn’t just about choosing fonts - that’s only the beginning. In this class, you’ll mostly work with the CSS3 @font-face property to address some of the challenges developers face when bringing beautiful typography to the web. Discover the best practices for including specialized fonts in your project and how to more efficiently use the CSS font properties. You’ll also delve into the notorious “ems v. pixels” debate in order to optimize fonts for responsive design.
Please bring a laptop to class. This class assumes a basic level of HTML/CSS knowledge (e.g. being able to properly use font-family, font-size, color, etc).
