We speak to local thought leaders about what makes their cities special and dive into the challenges those communities are facing as they compete in our global economy. The future of work is partnerships and we are excited to talk about how we can move the needle forward, together.

Allen teaches Entrepreneurship at the University of South Florida, is an Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Tampa's Entrepreneurship Center, and is a co-founder of and director at the Tampa Bay Wave startup accelerator. He is an advisor to many early stage companies and has launched or been part of several himself including Jibidee, an award winning web and mobile application for personal organization and productivity launched at TechCrunch Disrupt 2008. Allen has been directly involved in helping raise more than $20M in early stage capital for his ventures and others. Prior to startups, Allen had a corporate career which often left him drained and unfulfilled. This inspired him to publish his first book Quit to Start - How to Discover Your Best Idea, Gain the Confidence, and Plan Your Escape, dedicated to helping aspiring entrepreneurs successfully leave their job one day, in the right time, with the right plan, and realize their fullest potential.

John Land serves as Site Director and Interim General Manager for CIC St. Louis, a campus comprised of three sites at 4240 Duncan Avenue, 4220 Duncan Avenue, and CIC@CET. A strong believer in the power of genuine human connection, John seeks to support the great work already happening in St. Louis by promoting CIC as a vibrant, welcoming resource to the city's innovators. John's passions include Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion work; athletics and personal wellness; and travel.

Christine Edwards is a civic firebrand that has immersed herself in the art of helping urban communities reach their highest levels of growth, empowerment, and success. A speaker by profession, leader by vocation and entrepreneur by passion, Christine’s work involves using her voice to foster civically engaged communities through collaboration, partnership and digital communication. Embodying the essence of her core message she founded Amplify Community Consulting, her tech enable advocacy initiative that delivers community engagement outreach services, civic education workshops and resources for small businesses pursuing local government contracts.

Kirsty Goodlett is well versed in helping people authentically tell their story. Now serving as the Director of Nashville at Ketner Group Communications, Kirsty has experience in every aspect of communications, having run marketing departments internally for technology companies, supported communications efforts through an agency capacity, and worked directly with small businesses on their materials and strategy. As a locally recognized marketing expert, she has spoken at a variety of events including 36|86, TN Craft's Make Your Art and Make it Work and Craft Content. Kirsty is passionate about identifying and encouraging what makes individuals unique and inspiring confidence in them to impact their personal lives and larger communities.
Established in 2018, Amplify Consulting is a minority-owned consulting firm located in Charlotte, NC. Our firm consists of professionals experienced in multiple disciplines, including community outreach planning, community development, marketing, communication, and local government policy. We work with governments and nonprofits to enhance their community engagement capacity and increase awareness of special projects by hosting public meetings and workshops, specifically for capital projects and community developments.
We also offer civic engagement tools and resources for community leaders as well as local government education resources. Amplify Charlotte is proud project of the Emerging City Champions Fellowship 2018. We are a registered MWBE vendor with the State of North Carolina and the City of Charlotte.
