About this event

An industry-only General Assembly welcomes companies to meet graduates of all our Immersive Programs including User Experience Design, Data Science, Digital Marketing and Web Development. Our graduates will be on hand to show off their projects, and are available to chat about job opportunities (plus GA does not charge any placement fees).

About Our Students

While our graduates all display a common set of skills and competencies, they each bring their own backgrounds and interests to their work.

Meet 14 UX Designers who:

  • Have undertaken lengthy, tested, structured training in User Experience Design from expert instructors.
  • Are up to speed with the most current UX practices used by industry.
  • Have a UX portfolio that shows complete process, not just an end result.

Meet 15 Web Developers who:

  • Have a technical skillset that includes JavaScript, Rails, APIs, and the ability to learn new languages, libraries and frameworks.
  • Have the confidence and skills necessary to complete a web-based project according to given requirements.
  • Be able to present their work, articulate approaches and solutions to problems, and explain any ideas for future features in a clear, concise manner.

Meet 7 Data Scientists who:

  • Have a technical skillset that includes Python, SQL, Git/Github, Jupyter Notebook, and Matplotlib.
  • Have the ability to analyse, make sense of, convey data-driven facts from massive data sets, and predict what happens next through predictive modeling and pattern recognition.

Meet 5 Digital Marketers who:

  • Think audience and mobile first and can understand paid and organic search marketing, digital content and copywriting best practices, attribution, social and email as well as media planning.
  • Can cascade business objectives into marketing strategy, campaigns and channels and are proficient across paid, owned and earned channels.
  • Can measure, analyse and optimise the performance of campaigns using Google Analytics, Google Adwords and Google Search Console as well as track campaigns using Google Tag Manager and UTM parameters.

Format

The event is structured as a reverse job fair. Graduates will be stationed at tables, showcasing their individual and team projects. Graduates are looking for paid employment or apprenticeship roles, and many are open to either/both.
