About this workshop

Entrepreneurs that shape the future lay strong foundations for enterprises the world needs. Founders build foundations. And it’s the quality of your startup’s foundation that determines if your venture succeeds or fails. So getting your foundation right is really important. A weak foundation ultimately leads to collapse.

Startup Design is about strengthening your foundation, accelerating momentum, and getting the right things done. At its core, Startup Design is a framework to design, develop, and manage any new venture. It’s a tool to analyze your startup foundation, identify its weaknesses, and develop a strategy to strengthen it.

This workshop is for first-time, experienced, and aspiring entrepreneurs who want to feel less overwhelmed and more in control of the startup process.

This workshop will cover:

  • The elements of a startup foundation — i.e. the six things every entrepreneur must get right
  • Why startups fail and how to prevent collapse
  • How to design a strong startup foundation
  • A method for analyzing the strength of your startup foundation using a scorecard
  • Common challenges of entrepreneurship and how to overcome them
  • Why creating a time budget can minimize your time starting up
  • How to develop a roadmap for strengthening your startup foundation

Takeaways

By the end of class students will be able to:

  • Explain why startups succeed and fail using the Startup Design Framework.
  • Analyze their startup’s foundation and articulate how to strengthen it.
  • Develop a strategic plan to accelerate their startup’s momentum.
