About This Workshop

Social media initiatives don’t start when you register a Facebook or Twitter account and start posting announcements, it begins much sooner. In this workshop, you’ll be taken through how to understand social media platforms and learn how to develop and implement an actionable social media strategy. You’ll learn how to structure your social media efforts, captivate your audience on each social media platform, and build brand awareness, loyalty, and sales.

The well-being of our employees, students, clients, instructors, and guests is our number one priority here at General Assembly. We are monitoring the COVID-19 situation very carefully and are adjusting delivery of our programs.


Due to the current health concerns, all GA short-form events, workshops & bootcamps will temporarily be held online - including this one.


Registered students will be notified 24 hours in advance of this program with information on how to log in to the Zoom Meeting Room and other tools you’ll need for the session. Registration for this class will close 2 hours prior to the session start in order to allow all students ample opportunity to have the technology enabled.

Meredith is a social media guru and content strategist with experience working on digital content strategies for Fortune 500 brands such as Wells Fargo, Western Union, Morningstar Inc., and Deloitte. As a budding journalist, Meredith already understood social media’s benefit to publishers and reporters but quickly realized it’s immense potential to help brands better connect with customers. As a result, she traded in the traditional journalism track to pursue a career in social media and digital storytelling. Her experience spans working on corporate marketing teams, within digital agencies, and now as an independent consultant and owner of Work it Web. But one thing is certain: Meredith’s specialty and passion are helping companies leverage social media, original content, and engagement strategies to grow their brand online.
