Social media is an essential part of marketing and growing your brand. Join us as we explore this digital marketing landscape and discover your social media potential.
This workshop will provide an in-depth overview into the 4-5 major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Youtube). We will look at use cases from non-profits, startups, well-known brands, and world-renowned associations to assess best practices that you can apply to your own marketing efforts.
You'll leave with a detailed understanding of the current social media landscape, how to evaluate which tools or platforms are best for your goals, and a deeper understanding of how to create relevant, shareable content.
This workshop is designed for individuals and organizations that are already experimenting with the digital landscape. Even if marketing or social media doesn't directly fall under your job responsibilities, becoming well versed in the major social media platforms is a must-have skill and we encourage you to join us!

Part futurist part digital storyteller, Kevin O'Connell has become a rising voice in the digital marketing space. After full-time in Student Affairs & Higher Education for close to a decade, Kevin founded FYN Creative a digital storytelling and production agency with expertise in higher ed, non-profits, and startups. FYN Creative has partnered with organizations to focus heavily on social video, targeted campaigns, and digital storytelling trainings. FYN's clients span American University to Leadership Greater Washington to the National Education Association.
In addition to Kevin's role in digital marketing, he is a TEDx speaker and author of The Niche Movement: The New Rules to Finding a Career You Love. In 2013, Kevin joined a national conversation about how the millennial generation is disrupting the status quo in their career choices and approach to employment. His passion is to end employment unhappiness for this generation.
