This bootcamp introduces participants to the current social media landscape and explores how it can be used for maximum results, whether you are using social media personally, as a small business, a brand or agency. Participants will leave with a detailed understanding of what is entailed in the key components of a social media strategy – from identifying your key channels and setting objectives, to exploring your content themes and planning execution tactics to test, as well as evaluating which tools are right for you.
Topics to be covered will include: an overview of social media platforms, current social media trends and their implications, content strategy, customer experience for social, how to tailor social media tools to your existing business strategies and social media tools for monitoring and ROI.
Case studies and tactics will be presented throughout the session and participants will gain hands on knowledge through breakout sessions.
This workshop is for beginners to intermediate level. Some experience with social media is necessary – for example, we won't be covering things like how to set up a social account or target audience, but how to optimise your existing efforts.

Karen P'ng Freelance Strategist and Consultant
Karen P’ng is a freelance strategist and consultant specialising in social media, digital marketing and content. Having previously worked at Australia’s largest online retailer for the past 4.5 years, Karen has a strong interest towards helping startups and small businesses with limited resources grow using structure and strategy. She has worked with the likes of THE ICONIC, theright.fit, BRICKX and Trefiel. Karen holds a BA from Queensland University of Technology but believes that most of her skills and expertise came from her experiences of learning on the job and consistent upskilling through short courses.
