Social entrepreneurs face special challenges in their quest to create sustainable business models to serve their communities and address the social complexities at the center of their missions. These challenges include communicating their enterprise’s financial and social value, attracting appropriate funding, scaling operations, and developing a long-term strategy for sustainability while avoiding mission drift.
In our first Social Enterprise Spotlight we will bring together a panel of social entrepreneurs to share their challenges, lessons learned, and words of wisdom. This will be an interactive program in which participants will have the opportunity to convene in small groups with the entrepreneurs to exchange one-on-one perspectives as well as gain from a whole-group knowledge exchange. The objective of the evening is for everyone – speakers and participants alike – to leave with innovative ideas and possible action steps for their own social enterprise, a better understanding of the issues, and/or new professional contacts.
