About this event

We check our phones on average 57 times a day (for teenagers this number goes as high as 200). Is this really a conscious choice we make tens of times each day or is it something else?

We keep joking about being addicted to our phones but the reality is that we are. Not to our phones as much as to the apps installed in our phones, which have been designed to consume as much of our attention as possible, so that we spend more and more time on them.

In this talk we will take a look into the smart UX behind those apps which drive addiction. We will discuss how this ultimately affects our society as a whole and how we can design better apps that empower users instead of robbing them of their time to generate revenue, using as an example the ImpromptMe app, and it’s unique monetization model.
