Moira Smith joined General Assembly (GA) in 2017 and is currently the Program Manager for GA’s community reskilling initiatives, working closely with companies, governments, and non-profits to train and support students through GA’s design, data, and coding programs. She is an avid believer in the power of education to change lives and prior to her current position worked directly with students as an admissions producer on the Denver campus.
Outside of GA Moira enjoys cooking & eating, pop music, and long walks (on the beach and otherwise).
Priya is the VP of Government and Workforce Partnerships at General Assembly, focused on developing innovative public-private partnerships that build no to low cost options to GA’s industry leading digital skills training. These partnerships create greater opportunities for diverse communities to access transformational educational pathways that result in meaningful careers in technology.
Priya has deep expertise in the public sector and workforce development, working in strategy roles for government and non-profit organizations, including at the NYC Department of Small Business Services and the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation. Prior to GA, Priya was the VP of Growth and Strategy at Per Scholas, a national organization that has been advancing economic mobility for over 25 years, preparing individuals traditionally underrepresented in technology for high-growth careers in the industry. Priya managed national development and planning projects focused on organizational scale and impacts, including expanding its operations from eight to 17 campuses and project managing investment initiatives that will allow Per Scholas to grow to 25 campuses and 10,000 learners trained nationally by 2025. Priya received her BA at the George Washington University and her Master of Science in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
I am a UX Designer, based out of Chicago, IL, with a background in Education. I've always had a love for technology and design from a young age. When the opportunity to pivot to a career in the tech industry presented itself, I didn't hesitate to seize the moment.
I now use all of my experiences throughout life as motivation to become the best designer I can be. I pride myself on creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving.
