About This Workshop

Gain strategic insights into future consumer behaviours and what they mean for businesses and organisations.

Gain the methods to understand what the future or futures may look like, and how to explore the “how” and “why” culture is changing across the world.

Understand “how” by examining changing societies and emergent cultural shifts you can refresh thinking about audiences and categories and ultimately open up new spaces of opportunity for brands or organisations to grow, but also what it means for you as individuals.

Topics covered:

  • Future forecasting
  • Cultural & behavioural change
  • Global Drivers
  • Macro trends
  • Micro manifestations

Takeaways

By the end of the workshop you should be able to:

  • Understand the difference between drivers, macro trends and manifestations and why they matter
  • Spot cultural changes and apply them to your needs and the needs of your employer/business
  • Gain confidence in your ability to be more prepared for the future

Preparation

  • Pecha Kucha

A Pecha Kucha is a presentation style in which 20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each (6 minutes and 40 seconds in total). Please prepare your Pecha Kucha (in Keynote, PPT or your favourite format). Your 20 slides should be a mix of inspiration, innovative case studies, campaigns, products, activations, across categories that excite you. I am trying to get a sense of what influences you and how you group information.

There can be a narrative to your slides or they can be more ad hoc - there is no right or wrong answer.

  • Participants will also need to bring a laptop, and a notebook to write in.
