The world of retail is changing dramatically. Brands are now going direct to consumer.
In this workshop, we’ll take you step-by-step through setting up your first store on Shopify, the leading e-commerce platform that’s fueling the direct-to-consumer movement. While Shopify has made the process of creating an online store easier than ever, there’s still a ton of tricks and tips to know about optimizing your site to make the most sales.
We’ll walk through every element of the Shopify platform, from design to inventory management to integrating the right apps. You will leave with enough knowledge to open your first store and avoid making unnecessary (and costly) rookie mistakes.
The best parking structure to use is at 350 E. 2nd Street. It is directly next door (to the right) of our building. The cost is $2.00/15 min ($10 max), $5.00 flat rate after 4pm.
Gold line stop in Little Tokyo is a 5 minute walk to campus. Red line stop at Grand Park and Civic Center is about 10-15 minute walk.
Please bring your laptop, notebook and pen to jot down your notes. We’ll be looking at live examples from the Web and digging at the Shopify platform in detail. Students who already have a product in mind or are actively working on developing their first brand and product will get the most out of this class. While the workshop is geared for Shopify beginners, more experienced owners will get a lot of tricks for optimizing and branding your site as well.
