About this workshop

In the second part of this three-part workshop series, we will learn to use object-oriented programming, comprehensions, lambda, and reading in data from AWS. This will lead us into working with classes and having a robust fundamental knowledge of coding, designing and debugging. Our workshop will be punctuated by several code drills, which will include building on your Python quiz from the previous lesson.

Takeaways

  • Learn how to interpret and create comprehensions, lambda functions, classes, and read in data from a server.

  • Learn how to design and debug code and create more efficient code.

Prereqs & Preparation

  • Recommended that students take the first part of this series: Python for Data I
  • Workshop participants are expected to have some working knowledge of a spreadsheet program such as MS Excel.
  • Some exposure to Python programming is strongly recommended.
  • SQL Bootcamp is recommended or a strong understanding of SQL
  • Please make sure that you have Anaconda installed on your laptop (https://www.continuum.io/downloads) with Python 3.x (e.g. Python 3.6).
