About This Class

Product Management is an increasingly in-demand career. This workshop focuses on a core skill of product management: how to identify and understand problems. You’ll walk through the first stage of the product development process, and discuss the concept of the Minimum Viable Product, or MVP, as a foundation for solving the problems we’ve uncovered.

This session doesn’t require a laptop, but come prepared to problem-solve, discuss and sketch!

Dan Corbin is the Product Manager for Context.IO (a Return Path company). He is a Certified Scrum Product Owner and a Certified Scrum Professional with over 15 years of product development, project management, and programming experience. He has overseen the development and launched a number of API, web application, and SaaS products.

As the co-organizer of the Agile Austin Product SIG, Founder of The Product League meetup, and a frequent contributor to other local meetups, Dan is an active member of the Austin Product Management community. Topics of his presentations have included managing backlogs, utilizing metrics, risk-mitigation, Agile story writing workshops, assessing products with the opportunity canvas, and the using the happiness metric to improve team productivity. He is also an instructor for Agile Austin U which teaches Scrum and Agile fundamentals.
