About this workshop

Course Overview

  • Pitching is a skill every entrepreneur must develop and practice. This 5-hour PitchMasters course helps entrepreneurs develop and choose their key takeaways, target content for their intended audiences, discover and develop their roster of pitching tools, and master the most overlooked aspect of pitching: smooth, confident delivery.

  • Step 1: Before creating slides, you must ask yourself key questions about the goal of your pitch, the audience, and the key takeaways.

  • Step 2: Target the content. Every part of your pitch should be chosen to complement the key takeaways you have chosen in the first step. Anecdotes, statistics, data/metrics, and all content should be targeted. Less is more.

  • Step 3: Showing up with a tool belt. Develop multiple pitches using different techniques expanding how effective your message will be. Don’t be a one pitch pony.

  • Step 4: Bridge the gap between what you are thinking, what you are saying, and what the audience is hearing.

  • Step 5: Delivery is arguably the most important part of a pitch, but it is the least prepared. We will coach you on the vocal variety, confidence, presence, body language, tone, pacing, and overall energy of your pitch to fit your personality and target audience.

Takeaways

  • Pitch with purpose. Establish your 2-3 takeaways and how to relate those to your audience.
  • Target your content by analyzing your audience. “The essence of strategy is deciding what NOT to do” - or in our case - say.
  • Discover the various pitch archetype and their function. Develop best fits for your service/product/mission.
  • Practice your delivery in front of 20 different friends and strangers. -Audience feedback discovery – Ask them what they thought the key takeaway was. Does it match what you had in mind? Ask them if they can tell them your product back to you. Does your pitch adequately explain what you are doing?
  • Live delivery coaching - private recorded session with analysis of both vocal and body language.
  • Completed investor pitch script

Prereqs & Preparation

  • A prepared pitch is encouraged, but not required. Everyone’s first pitch will change dramatically by the end of the workshop.
