About This Workshop

"Singapore still hiring tech talent though mass layoffs taking place among global heavyweights" - The Economic Times

Rising inflation and interest rates coupled with the changing post-pandemic landscape have resulted in certain tech firms slashing jobs to cut costs. However, as mentioned by labour chief Ng Chee Meng, the demand for tech talent in Singapore is still high!

GA Singapore is hosting this free career workshop to help individuals stay on track with their job search. This session is open to anyone who has been affected by the recent layoffs or in the process of applying for open tech roles.

You are not alone in this journey, let us work with you to secure your next big move!

To provide more personalised coaching, limited seats are available. Registrations are on a first come, first served basis.

Schedule:

  • 12:30pm - 12:50pm | Tips on job search and crafting a strong resume
  • 12:50pm - 1:20pm | Breakout into small groups and ask your questions to the career coach
  • 1:20pm - 1:30pm | Wrap up

Samantha is an international Certified Behavorial & Career Consultant and a Certified Career Services Provider. She scouts for upcoming and future trends that will allow her clients to better position themselves, to stay relevant and competitive.

In her time out of day work, she creates career-related content on various social media platforms, she also spend time networking in the global landscape, giving talks and conducting seminars. She is recognised as an Associate Adult Educator, part of Adult Education Professionalisation, an initiative under Singapore’s SkillsFuture agenda, aiming to raise the standards of Continuing Education and Training in Singapore.

Career Coach, General Assembly

Prior to joining General Assembly, Peck Hoon has been working as a Career Coach, partnering with unemployed PMETs on their job search journey and helping them to find meaningful employment. Having made a career switch from Market Research consultancy to Career coaching, she understands the challenges and uncertainties faced by career switchers. Peck Hoon is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with International Coach Federation (ICF) as well as a certified Career Development Facilitator (WSQ). Out of work, she also volunteers as a career mentor, guiding fresh graduates and undergraduates on their career choices.
