About this event

Pecha Kucha 20x20 is a simple presentation format where you show 20 images, each for 20 seconds. The images advance automatically and presenters talk along to the images. Pecha Kucha Nights are informal and fun gatherings where creative people get together and share their ideas, works, thoughts.

In this special Pecha Kucha, presenters are invited to answer the following: From your unique vantage point Who was Atlanta, Who is Atlanta and Who will Atlanta become? Atlanta's identity in inextricably linked and at times juxtaposed to the metro and the state. How does the city, the metro and the state influence, shape, hold back and propel each other forward?

Presenters: Amy Phoung- Commissioner, City of Atlanta Parks & Recreation Atlanta's Parks & Recreation Commissioner. Do gooder. Cities nerd. Fat kid at heart. Tea snob. Bicycle advocate. Native Atlantan.

Dr. Calinda Lee- Historian, Atlanta History Center Dr. Calinda N. Lee currently serves as the historian at Atlanta History Center. She joined the staff of the Atlanta History Center in September 2013 to develop Gatheround: Stories of Atlanta, the cornerstone exhibition on the history of Atlanta. Dr. Lee has significant experience in both the academic and non-profit communities. It is her deep belief that scholarship must be intimately linked with community service to have greatest impact.

Rohit Malhotra- Executive Director, Center for Civic Innovation Rohit Malhotra is the Founder and Executive Director of the Center for Civic Innovation in Atlanta, his hometown city. His background is in social entrepreneurship, digital communications, open data and community organizing. Rohit is a self-appointed expert on pizza and hip hop.

Marian Lou- Founder, We Love Buford Highway

Gregory Walker- Partner, Houser Walker Architecture Gregory has practiced architecture in Florida, Massachusetts, and Georgia for the past 19 years. As a partner in Houser Walker Architecture, he helps to lead the firm's efforts in academic, living and workspace projects. Drawing upon long term research into methods of fabrication and local craft traditions, he loves translating the complexities of the design process into simple, understandable solutions.
