Interested in exploring a career switch but don’t know where to start? You are at the right place!

Come join this panel discussion focused on what it’s like to go through a bootcamp and transition careers. Led by expert GA alumni who’ve made the change themselves, they’ll share their honest experiences and the secrets to their success.

In this 1 hour interactive session, you will get the chance to ask your most pressing questions and get candid answers which will hopefully help you chart your own path to success in a new tech career.

About the Instructor

Stefanie Padilla Photo

Senior Career Coach, General Assembly

Before becoming a Career Coach at General Assembly, Stef was formerly a Tech Recruiter leading end-to-end recruitment for middle to top-management roles in Software Engineering and Cyber Security. Placing IT talent in the industry, she was also responsible for building key relationships with hiring partners across Fortune 500 companies to Startups.

Stef is constantly motivated in guiding individuals in their journey towards a new career in tech.

Yuan Tieming Photo

Enterprise Agile Coach, British Petroleum (BP)

Tieming is an Enterprise Agile coach with British Petroleum (BP). He is responsible for BP China's electric business and lubricant transformation. His work involves making business entities more effective and efficient through agility.

Tieming was a data scientist at Toyota Tsusho Asia Pacific. His main work revolves around supply chain optimisation, business intelligence and user behaviour analysis.

His data analytics work has transformed Toyota Tsusho's decision-making process, enabling stakeholders to extract information from new dimensions.

His interest in data science started in his university days. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and Management from Newcastle University Business School and a Master of Science in Business Analytics from the University of Edinburgh.

Tieming is also an agile coach in Toyota Tsusho, where he coaches teams to adopt an agile mindset and enhances team synergy.

Before joining Toyota Tsusho Asia Pacific, Tieming was a senior officer at Singapore Police Force. He has solved death cases, and violent crimes and put serial thieves in prison. He was also awarded the Sword of Honour during his Officer Cadet Course.

He is more than happy to share his journey from pistol to python.

Inez Yuen Photo

UX Designer, Palo IT

Inez is a UX Designer with a special love for wireframes and building prototypes.

She views the world through the lens of her background in Sociology, which drives her to uncover truths about how human beings move in the world. In a past life, Inez was in events production, but has since moved on from designing experiences for a live audience to experiences for the user.

Outside of design, you'll find her binge-watching movies, tinkering with her film camera, and playing music for a live audience.

Lian Xin Lim Photo

UX/UI Designer

Since graduating from General Assembly’s UX Design course, Lian Xin has put her newfound skills to good use to design proof-of-concept digital solutions that complements a novel cancer treatment, and a landing page that unifies several disparate internal tools that will enable more than 3,000 internal employees in Asia Pacific to harness the power of data for their day-to-day work, amongst others.

Lian Xin is a firm believer of #techforgood, and is also an active member of better.sg, a non-profit organisation that drives #techforgood in Singapore. She’s currently working on building a digital platform that can support the needs of the non-profit mental health organisations (NPMHOs) in Singapore.
