About this event

Many work environments are dominated by "stick and carrot" motivation: do well and you'll get a reward, but do badly and you'll be punished. However, with this approach, the satisfaction of doing a job well can often get lost in the drive for praise and promotion. Research on employee engagement suggests that people perform better when they are intrinsically motivated. Specifically, our job performance and job satisfaction correlates with three key elements of our work:

  • Purpose: the desire to work toward something larger and more important than ourselves
  • Autonomy: the need to direct our own life and work
  • Mastery: the desire to improve

In this highly interactive session presented in partnership with BigTalker, attendees will learn key leadership skills that lead to higher job satisfaction, helping them develop purpose, autonomy, and mastery in their own careers.
