About this workshop series

This workshop is an introduction to finance which will introduce students to the concepts and techniques necessary to analyze and implement optimal investment decisions by firms. Topics include basic discounting techniques, stock and bond valuation, and capital budgeting under certainty and uncertainty, portfolio choice, asset pricing models.

This workshop will cover present value and future value (the basics along with real world issues and applications). We'll combine the theoretical underpinnings of finance with cases and real-world examples. You'll test the tools in teams and apply them to real-world situations.

This class if for entrepreneurs, start-ups, small business owners, folks interested in finance, recent college grads.

    tNo background in finance is necessary, but students are required to bring a laptop with Microsoft Excel to class.

    Exposure to economics, accounting and/or algebra will be helpful.
