About This Workshop

SQL is a valuable tool and skill to unlocking your company's data. This powerful but simple programming language is used to communicate with databases and is a standard across most online applications. Knowing SQL allows you to gather, analyze and process data from any database you have access to, helping you unlock insights to make better business decisions.

In this workshop, you’ll learn what SQL is, how databases function, and the SQL queries needed to collect data from a database to analyze and find the answers you’re looking for.

Takeaways

  • Background on databases & database structure
  • Connecting to a remote database
  • Finding basic data with SELECT, FROM, WHERE, & ORDER BY
  • Combining data from multiple tables with INNER JOIN
  • Calculating statistics with aggregate functions and GROUP BY
