Intro to Sketchnoting: Illustrate Your Ideas with Visual Notetaking | Online | June 8
About This Workshop
This workshop is scheduled for Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST), which may appear to be an unusual time in your local timezone. Please check the workshop time and timezone carefully to make sure you have the correct timing.
Conventional note taking is fast fading. Line by line, the note taking style we were once taught in school is evaporating, and in its place an exciting alternative is emerging. Sketchnoting, or visual note taking, combines words with pictures in everyday notes to boost learning, memory and understanding.
It’s practical, it’s impactful, and it’s fun. This workshop will show you the basics, from visual techniques to hands-on exercises. Ditch the lined paper, and join the movement on better visual thinking.
No drawing skills required, just an open and willing attitude to learning, sharing your findings and diving into new concepts and sketching techniques. That's it!
This workshop is highly interactive with group activities and discussions throughout. To participate you will need to:
Have your camera turned on for the entire session
Have an accessible microphone
Be in a quiet, well-lit space with minimal distractions
Strong internet connection
Understand how to use basic elements to sketch objects, figures and almost anything
Learn how to create graphic recordings in meetings, events and at work
Learn how to listen for the big ideas and communicate them visually
Practice drawing exercises and improve your visual vocabulary
This workshop will be completely live and online. In preparation, please download Zoom.
Please have paper, a pencil and a fine-line marker ready.
This session will not be recorded, however slides will be shared following the class.
