About This Workshop

This workshop will be an immersive, hands-on look at how to design and test a great user experience. You will learn design thinking techniques to help answer questions such as:

  • Why do people use certain products instead of others?
  • How can you uncover user pain points through UX research?
  • What are the basics of a good user experience?
  • What makes products addictive?

Prereqs & Preparation

If you’d like, please bring a product that you’d like feedback on. If it is a mobile app, bring your phone. If it is a website, bring your laptop, etc. If you don’t feel comfortable sharing your idea, that’s perfectly fine too.

Nirish Shakya is a UX Lead at NOW TV (Sky). He has been designing products across multiple channels including web, mobile and in-store for big name brands in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, including financial institutions, universities, telcos and not-for-profits. He has been in the digital industry for 10 years, starting off as a developer and UI designer and then diving head first into UX design in 2010. He is also a regular speaker and a passionate advocate of experience-driven profitability at design and technology forums.
