About this event

Whether you're a beginner who wants to get started in web development, a designer looking to hand-code their concepts, or a marketer who wants a little more control, this one hour free class will give a basic introduction to front-end web development and how you can get started bringing your web design ideas to life.

This session is designed for beginners and will assume no previous coding knowledge. We'll go over key coding terminology and principles, introduce languages like HTML, CSS and JavaScript—what their functions are, how they work together—and use some of that new knowledge to write our own code and develop our own simple site.

Takeaways

  • How the web works (the difference between front-end and back-end, what are HTML, CSS, and JavaScript)
  • What makes a webpage? (HTML Elements, IDs, classes, basic specificity)
  • Learn to code simple pages with HTML and CSS
  • Techniques to use at-home when stuck on code

Prereqs & Preparation

None.
