About This Workshop

The much-anticipated sequel to our SQL Bootcamp; Intermediate SQL Bootcamp: How to Architect Complex Queries.

Our CAST of characters has expanded to CASE statements, Window functions, subqueries and CTEs. This course is a great opportunity to review Intro to SQL and also learn some new concepts that can be applied immediately in your current or future role! A more thorough description can be found below.

Topics Covered:

  • Review of Intro to SQL Concepts (SELECT, WHERE, FROM, JOIN, GROUP BY, ORDER BY) in an interactive group workshop
  • Creating conditional statements (CASE functions) that can be paired with aggregate functions (SUM, COUNT, MIN, MAX, etc.)
  • Using window functions (RANK, SUM() OVER) to create ranked lists with partitioning and grand totals in your SQL queries
  • Building and understanding the differences between a subquery and a common table expression; CTEs (WITH keyword)
  • Iron-clad framework to use when architecting multi-layered and complex queries
