Plus, they’ll cover opportunities within the field and their vision for the future of the industry.

Why It Matters: Design is one of the most powerful forces in our lives. It affects our morning commute, how we experience websites and apps, and how we communicate with each other. Gaining a better understanding of this universal force will help you see the world and your projects through a fascinating new lens.
J is a brand strategist, experience designer, and business consultant. He’s been building digital products for the web since 1996, and has been credited with creating multiple things web designers and developers take for granted today. He’s the Founder and CEO of Nine Labs, a digital experience design and strategy consultancy based in Atlanta, GA.
He speaks at conferences around the world, mentors and judges numerous events, sits on the advisory board for multiple organizations.
He has worked on projects with organizations like The City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office, Coca-Cola, UPS, General Electric, and the State of Georgia. He also serves as a mentor at the Advanced Technology Development Center at Georgia Tech; and as a private consultant to numerous other organizations.
• Started his first company in high school and sold it 4 years later.
• Instrumental in growing CoffeeCup – where he led operations, design, and development of over 60 web and desktop applications – from startup to over 500MM users before a private equity acquisition in 2006
• Co-founded Bluedomino Web Hosting in 2000 and grew it to over 25,000 accounts in 24 months before being acquired by Endurance International in 2002.
• Founder & President of the Atlanta Web Design Group, a 3000+ member association of web designers, developers, and marketers
• Served 3 years as a mentor at Georgia Tech’s ATDC • Lectures for UGA’s Masters of Internet Technology program
Denise Nicole Francis
Sr. Product Designer,
Denise Nicole Francis is a Sr. Product Designer for Salesforce. Her focus in user experience and visual design is applied daily to cognitive strategy design and visually communicating data to assist users in understanding using a very specific cloud based customer relationship management software platform. She also occasionally moonlights as as creative designer for India.Arie Inc., and formerly taught university students in graphic design fundamentals at Atlanta Technical College and LaGrange College as well as formerly served as a Product Designer for IBM at The Weather Company. She stays inspired by constructing creative content for social media platforms, travelling, and attempting to create gourmet meals from scratch. Denise holds a BS in Architecture and M.Arch from Florida A&M University, as well as a MFA in Graphic Design from Savannah College of Art and Design, all while maintaining special training in User Experience from General Assembly Atlanta.

Andy Vitale is the UX Director, Wholesale Banking at SunTrust Bank, one of the nation’s largest financial services companies, where he is focused on translating human insights into actionable experiences to improve the product and service ecosystem within the finance industry. Andy is responsible for leading all user experience efforts for SunTrust’s wholesale banking solutions, advancing design strategies and driving design awareness as a critical function for competitive advantage and market differentiation. Aside from his primary role at SunTrust, Andy serves as Director of Design Impact for AIGA Minnesota and is an adjunct professor for Kent State University’s User Experience Design graduate program. He is also a member of the UXPA Cleveland Senior Advisory Board and the Program Advisory Committee for the Graphic Design & Interactive Media Program at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Andy often writes about design and speaks at industry conferences and events.
