Four of Atlanta’s most experienced corporate design directors discuss the challenges and best practices for In-House creatives. This is an outstanding opportunity to hear from corporate design and interactive leaders. The format is a moderated panel discussion with audience Q & A. Audience will include professional designers from AIGA Atlanta.
AIGA Atlanta’s InHouse Professional Development programs are an extension of AIGA’s national INiative, which aims to promote and share best practices for design management & in-house design teams.

Senior Director, Design & Package Innovation,
Brian Rice is Senior Director, Design & Package Innovation at Georgia Pacific. He manages a staff of diverse professionals in design, innovation and package engineering. He has a wealth of experience in corporate design, including Coca-Cola, Proctor and Gamble, and Bristol-Meyers Squibb. He is a graduate of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, with graduate study at Cornell.
Director of Design,
Todd Dominey is Director of Design at MailChimp, leading their core products, integrations and moblie apps. Among his duties are goal setting, prototyping new products and design recruiting. Before joining MailChimp he founded and developed two software companies (Koken, SlideShowPro), was a creative director for SuperDeluxe.com, and was the lead designer for multiple Turner Sports web properties.

Georgia State University
Ellen Powell is the Senior Director of Strategic Communications at Georgia State University. As a member of the Public Relations and Marketing Communications management team, leads the implementation of the organization’s strategic plan, focusing on highest priority. She is active in GSU’s centennial celebration. Before GSU she worked as a freelance designer and as Art Director for Georgia Power Company.

The Coca Cola Company
Tom Farrell is Senior Design Director at The Coca Cola Company, where he also served as Design Director of the Global Brand Identity Group. He also worked as Creative Director at Sapient in New York and Design Director at Studio Archetype, New York, before that he was a graphic designer at BBC television in London. He is a graduate of Central St. Martins School of Design, London.
Dallas Duncan Franklin The chair of the AIGA In-House Initiative and Art Director at Neenah Paper
Dallas Duncan Franklin, is the chair of the AIGA In-House Initiative, and Art Director at Neenah Paper, where she oversees design strategy, mill promotions and strategic partnerships. She also served as Associate CD at PureRED, the Atlanta Opera and the Evenson Design Group in Culver City, CA. She also freelanced for EMI Capitol Records in Los Angeles, and served an internship under Michael Bierut at Pentagram in New York.
